Children & Worship
Sunday Mornings
9:45 a.m.
Ages 3 to 8
Our approach is based on the work of three people who have worked with hundreds of children all over the world for nearly 50 years (Cavalletti, Berryman, & Stewart). Our aim is to prepare an environment in which children can "come close to God" themselves, using materials and engaging in activities that absorb their attention and focus their energy. We use a style of biblical storytelling, in our emphasis of worship and, therefore, are not so much teaching during this hour as we are worshiping with your children. These materials do not entertain: they invite imagination, creativity, and wonder.

Judy Friesen, along with three others, serve on the Children & Worship Team. Judy (also a trained, certified teacher) received training from Dr. Sonja Stewart, professor of Christian Education at Western Theological Seminary in Holland, Michigan during two week-long seminars in July 2002 and July 2003.
