Jail Ministry Dinner
6:00 p.m., Saturday, May 2

The annual Spring Cook County Jail Ministry Dinner will be held in our gymnasium on Saturday, May 2 at 6:00 p.m. in our Fellowship Hall. You are invited to join us for delicious meal and an inspiring program of testimonies and music. This annual event is a fundraiser for a ministry that has ministered to thousands of inmates and their families for more than thirty years. Countless lives have been touched and transformed by the message of the gospel preached to those behind prison bars. This ministry was started by Chaplain Andy Gonzalez and the First Baptist Church of Oak Park. Following Andy’s untimely death, his wife Marjean has taken up the mantle of leadership. Under her capable care the ministry has grown and thrived. Tickets are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children under the age of 12. A free will offering will also be received.

2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 3

First Baptist Church of Oak Park is participating in the Oak Park “Hunger Walkathon West” again this year on Sunday May 3rd at 2:00 p.m. In the past eight years, FBCOP has raised over $14,000. Seventy-five percent is used by Church World Service (CWS) for disaster relief, self-help development projects & food in more than eighty impoverished countries.
