Sharing Seniors' Picnic, 12:00 noon, Saturday, August 14, 2010

Our Sharing Seniors' Picnic will again be held at the home of Cecil and Eunice Jones. All seniors are invited to share in this annual event.

Youth Group Pool Party, 1:30 -5:30 p.m., Saturday, August 14, 2010

A "Youth End of Summer Pool Party will be held Saturday, August 14, 1:30 -5:30 p.m. All youth are invited to come to the church at 1:30 p.m. We will take the church van to Rehm Pool, 515 Garfield at East Ave. in Oak Park We will return to the church for pick up at 5:30 p.m. Permission slips are mandatory!!

Sunday School Teachers' Workshop, 9:00 a.m. -12:00 noon, Saturday, August 21, 2010

Our Education Team is holding a Sunday School workshop for our Youth and Children's Sunday school teachers. We will be discussing the curriculum, and have meditation time and fellowship with our hard working Sunday school teachers.

Harry Porter and the Magician's Exam, 10:00 a.m., Sunday, August 22, 2010

This year's Children's Sunday worship service is entitle Harry Porter and the Magician's exam. The story line is that young Harry Porter has been transported to the castle of the Pigswarts School of Magic where novice magicians are taking their final exams prior to graduation. But before they can receive their wands, they must each successfully perform a Gospel magic trick. All muggles are invited to come out and enjoy the show and hear the Good News expressed in a new way.

Sunday School Kick Off, 11:15 a.m., Sunday, September 12, 2010

Come enjoy a tailgate breakfast after church and learn about First Baptist Sunday School opportunities at our Education Team's Sunday School Kick Off! It is time to choose your team! Sunday School is not a spectator sport anymore! As a special surprise you can enjoy our 3 yards of ice cream Sunday! It will be a touch down for everyone. Fall Sunday School classes will kick off on September 19th.

Sunday School

Classes for all ages are offered. We hope you will want to start the fall off right by deciding to grow in your understanding of scripture. The following is a summary of our offerings.

Adult Opportunities
Matthew Studies—9:00 a.m., Sellers Room; Fay and Max Havlick; Teaching by class members writing their own life stories, "Being Christian in Today's World," from Philippians, Judson Bible Journeys for Adults (American Baptist)

Living Waters Class—9:00 a.m., Dining Room; Steve Bruner will be continuing Bible studies on the great Old Testament stories from Joshua to Daniel. We are now in Nehemiah and his rebuilding of Jerusalem.

Pastor’s Bible Study—11:30 a.m., Parlor; Harry Parker will continue his Old Testament study as we examine the books of Joshua and Judges.

Youth Opportunities
Junior and Senior High Youth Group Sunday School classes will kick off on Sunday, September 19th.

Children’s Opportunities
Children's Sunday School Classes will kick off on Sunday, September 19th.
