Every person is on some sort of journey. When you come to First Baptist Church of Oak Park, you are joining a people taking a particular path. In our walk we seek to follow the Way of light that leads to life. We have not arrived but we are traveling the road.

We welcome anyone to join us in our journey. We are people from different ethnic, economic and religious backgrounds. What ties us together is our belief that God is the Creator and Sustainer of all things, that he sent his son, Jesus Christ to set us free from our sin and gave us the Holy Spirit to comfort and guide us.

Our journey includes fellowship with one another, and we look to the example of Christ's love for us as our model. It takes in the teaching of scripture, that we might learn to live wisely. It involves the praise and prayer of worship. And, it calls us to serve those in material or spiritual need within our church community, as well as those in the human community around us.

We believe Christ is not only walking alongside us in our journey, celebrating the gift of life, but he carries us through the hardest times when we haven't the strength. We are striving to bring this good news to others as we travel. So please walk with us awhile. Please join our journey of light and life.
