History: The First Baptist Preschool & Kindergarten is now in its 8th decade of dedicated service to the community as a teaching and caring center for preschool and kindergarten children. Founded as a Pre-Kindergarten in 1927, the school has grown to a licensed capacity of 120 students. The Preschool and Kindergarten operates as a not-for-profit ministry and community service. The school meets the requirements established by the Department of Children and Family Services of the State of Illinois and the Oak Park Village Board of Health. These requirements set standards on organization, administration and professional staff, varied curriculum, proper nutrition, maintenance of safety standards, and well designed facilities. The school has service children of many races and creeds during its long history. Operation of the school is under the supervision of the Preschool & Kindergarten Board of the First Baptist Church of Oak Park. The school was reorganized as a Christian school effective July 1, 1988, open to all races and religions. We have full and part-time programs. Discounts available for second child. |

Through the program and Christian staff, children are encouraged to socialize, to think independently, to co-operate in play, to share in group experiences, and to develop a love of learning. Our goal is to share God's love through Jesus Christ to children and families by teaching and example. |
